Ben Cove (born 1974, Melksham, Wiltshire, UK) was raised in Manchester and lived and worked in London from 2006 until his untimely death in 2016.

His work was shown widely across the UK and abroad; he was the winner of numerous awards, residencies and commissions and his work is held in collections including Goldsmiths College, Priseman-Seabrook and Soho House.

He undertook BA’s in Architecture at the University of Nottingham, 1995 and Fine Art at Sheffield Hallam University, 2001 prior to an MA in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, 2008. Solo exhibitions include Vernacular Hangover, (Acme Project Space, London, 2013) Practical Mechanics, (Cell Project Space, London, 2006) and New Plastic Universal (Castlefield Gallery, Manchester, 2004).

 

Cove has made work across a range of media, in recent years focusing on paintings and sculptures which are often conceived to form coexisting relationships.
